Cookie policy
Which cookies expo.rentals uses by category, how consent is managed and how to remove them from your browser.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It contains no program and it cannot read the files on your device. It holds a short value — a session number, for example — by which the site recognises that the next request comes from the same browser.
Without cookies a basket cannot work. If you add a roll-up banner and move to another page, your choice has to be remembered somewhere. That is exactly what the strictly necessary cookies do.
Alongside cookies, browsers offer similar local storage technologies. We use one word for all of it here, because for you the difference is a technical one.
Which cookies we use
| Category | What it is for | Can it be refused |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Session, basket contents, CSRF protection on the order forms | No, the site does not work without them |
| Functional | Chosen language (Bulgarian or English) and remembered browsing preferences | Yes |
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 — aggregated statistics on which pages are read and where visits come from | Yes |
| Marketing | Advertising and remarketing, where such tools are in use at the time | Yes |
Strictly necessary
The session cookie keeps the link between you and the server while you browse. The basket cookie remembers what you selected, with which dates and which print option. The CSRF cookie protects the forms from forged requests sent from another site. These cookies are not used for advertising and cannot be switched off in the banner, because without them an order cannot be submitted.
Functional
This is where the chosen language sits, so you are not thrown back to Bulgarian if you started on the English version. Small browsing preferences live here too. Refuse them and the site still works, but it forgets those choices on your next visit.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 for aggregated statistics: how many people passed through a page, which pages are read to the end, where the traffic comes from. We look at numbers, not people. We need that data to see which explanation is not working and which text has to be rewritten.
Marketing
If advertising and remarketing tools are in use, they write cookies that may lead to you seeing an advert for the site elsewhere on the internet. This category is loaded only after you consent in the banner.
How consent is managed
On your first visit you see a consent banner. From it you can accept all categories, refuse everything that is not strictly necessary, or choose category by category. Analytics and marketing scripts are not loaded before you give consent.
The decision can be changed at any time — open the consent settings from the banner again and change your choice. Withdrawing consent works forward: it stops future collection, but by itself it does not delete cookies already written to your browser.
Managing cookies in your browser
- Every modern browser lets you view and delete the cookies of a specific site from its privacy settings.
- You can block third-party cookies while keeping the site cookies working.
- You can browse in private or incognito mode, where everything stored is dropped when the window closes.
- If you delete the cookies you will lose the contents of the basket and the chosen language, and the consent banner will appear again.
Storage periods
Session cookies live until the browser is closed. The basket and language cookies have a longer life, so they are still useful on a repeat visit within days or weeks. Consent cookies are kept long enough that we do not ask you again on every page load. Analytics and marketing cookies are kept according to the settings of the tool concerned. The exact periods are visible in the browser itself, in the cookie list for expo.rentals.
Relation to the privacy policy
This page explains cookies only. What personal data we collect with an order, on what basis we process it, how long we keep it and what rights you have — that is set out in the Privacy policy. Invoicing details and delivery addresses are not processed through cookies, but through the order itself.
